The Council's Resource& Referral Services offer current information about child care availability and options and other family resources across San Mateo County. Over 1000 child care providers are in the San Mateo County Data Base. 650-655-6777.

Choosing Child Care

Choosing the right child care and early education is one of the most important decisions you'll ever make to ensure your child's safe and healthy development, and positive academic and social growth. The Council will work with you hand in hand to ensure the best choices for your child.

Paying For Child Care
The council manages on of the largest child car e subsidy payment programs in San Mateo County. The agency works to promote economic self-sufficiency by counseling and coordinating services for transitional families and maintaining a specialized phone line for families.

Referral Request Form
For referrals to child care providers and programs in your area, you can turn to the council's child care resource and referral service. Fill out a request form online and you will be contacted within 24 hours

Resource Library
The Council has an extensive library or books periodicals and videos - one of the largest in San Mateo County. The library offers a variety of topics related to child development, the business of child care, family dynamics, plus much more.
